IT ALL STARTS WITH US
and a little stream

Twelve years of work led us to recognise, make and find:
PROBLEM, LONG-TERM PLAN & SOLUTION
PROBLEM

Water pollution is one of the most serious ecological threats we face today.

And the pollution starts - with YOU, ME, US - and our everyday shopping.

Photos above: groceries for 9,8 EUR and the trash we leave behind.

And the pollution of the mighty oceans starts ... with a little stream.

Maybe even in the vicinity of your - or your parents home.

There are a multitude of organizations and movements around the globe that are trying to clean up the oceans and beaches that have been contaminated.

The problem is sustainability. In a few months, the same thing will happen again.

All such clean-up initiatives are good, but they are not the solution. Why?

Because they don’t eliminate the source of pollution. And where is the source?

IT'S RIGHT HERE

Ocean pollution starts hundreds or even thousands kilometres away in the creeks, streams, lakes, rivers ... mountains, gorges, canyons, caves ... on the islands, open landfills and mostly in the vicinity of villages.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The vast majority of marine debris reaches the oceans by waterways. At least twice per year, the raging flood waters sweeps it from its source to the oceans.

So ... if we don’t stop the pollution (red lines) at its source, we will have to do ocean and beach cleanups over and over again.

LONG-TERM PLAN

We already work for 12 years and are quite aware that we will have to work at least few more - before we even see the first results! Therefore we divided our work in six carefully planned steps:

_DSC0002_edited.jpg
1. INSPECTING

Prepare for everything, be prepared for anything.

First we walk through, thoroughly inspect and photograph the whole polluted area - mountains, caves, canyons and riverbeds.

ACTION BUDGET (900) COPY.jpeg
2. PLANNING

Well planned is half done.

Before the action we make a detailed cleaning plan, budget plan, media release, circulars

for the participants, prepare all necessary equipment and especially take care of safety.

3. CLEANING

Trashbonding is the best bonding.

The best way to understand that we are all connected through waters is to organise International cleanup actions. Trashbonding is very effective - and also great fun.

4. PROMOTING

If nobody knows - nobody cares.

Spreading awareness and promoting our work through social media, books, films, TV, radio, lectures, interviews and articles. This part is even more important than the cleaning itself.

5. MONITORING

To see is to know, not to see is to guess.

Monitoring the cleaned areas every few months. If we find out that our actions did not bring satisfactory results, we make another cleanup action - and strengthen the promoting part.

6. EDUCATING

I hear, I know ... I see, I remember ... I do, I understand.

The best way to educate youth is to show an example, involve them in our actions - and to encourage and help them to organise their own cleaning actions.

SOLUTION

The solution is to create a population with a healthy and honest attitude towards our planet.

Unfortunately, it is too late for many things, but not for everything.

Guided by a sincere desire to change our own attitude towards life and nature, we have realized that the only way to do something that will lead to real change is to invest in our future. And our future is our children.

With the proper education of our children, over several generations, we will create heirs who will live in harmony with nature. We will have a generation of people who can truly relate to the natural environment, who will love nature with all their hearts, and preserve it as a sanctuary.

If we begin right now, over time, we will create serious people with a serious mission: to preserve that which is the source of our lives at any cost. This is our goal ... that all our children become: Guardians of the Earth.

And we even prepared a step by step guide for them:)
